30 CEs October 3rd-6th Mon-Thurs 8:30am-6:00 pm
In this class you will have so much fun learning about prenatal massage. You will get to dive deep into the 40 weeks (+/-) of pregnancy for both the fetus and the Mother. During pregnancy, a woman’s body experiences “changes in shape, composition, hormonal flow, fat and weight distribution, and posture”. The Mother will also experience emotional, psychological, and possible spiritual changes, some of which can be very stressful. This is the class where you get to learn how massage therapy can help a pregnant women cope with these changes over the course of her pregnancy. A massage therapist can teach a mother self-relaxation tools to use throughout pregnancy which can help during labor. Postpartum massage can help the mother recover both physically and emotionally. Prenatal massage also has the power to influence the growing baby, as your therapy affects the mothers stress level (aka hormonal imbalances), digestion, and circulation. This also gives the mother a chance to feel truly supported in a nonjudgmental fashion to allow her to feel more comfortable in her ever-changing body. You will learn how to confidently give a prenatal intake and perform a full body treatment with excellent new draping skills and a knowledge of all the tools you need to begin to practice prenatal massage in your practice.
